Descriptif:
Traditional 1903 18 meter Tjalk has been lovingly restored by professional tradesmen, during the last five years in Southern France on the Canal du Midi.
This unique vessel has undergone an extensive renovation and the interior has been modernized, the unique woods rejuvenated, ships services streamlined, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems modernized.
The restoration was designed around the requirements of two occupants living onboard year round. Leeboards have been designed, constructed, and mounted to allow more accurate shiphandling abilities.
All accessories will remain in the barge such as Radio/CD (10 changer), Multi system TV with built in VCR, DVD, Satellite system (dish, receiver, LMB), 1900 watt air conditioner (main salon). Dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, bedding, towels etc…
In renovating the barge, for year round living, considerable thought was placed in ensuring maximum comfort and practicality.
We decided that one bedroom forward, would best allow more room in the main salon and kitchen. For short visits from friends and family, the sofa converts to a double bed.
The cockpit is spacious and open. It can be totally enclosed in winter by a white canvas bache (zippered windows and doors)and frame constructed in 2004; easily dismantled for cruising.
The boat is complete and ready for occupancy.
